Job Details

The Lead Financial Analyst's primary responsibilities include working closely with the Global Store Development team to provide financial support to enable informed decision making. The role supports the period and quarterly close process through internal reporting and analysis of financial results. This role drives the annual budget process, ongoing forecast, and the analysis and reporting of key business metrics.

Responsibilities

20% - Provide analysis and consultation to facilitate and drive key development decisions

·       Lead analysis to guide the creation / revision of store growth programs.  Key analysis includes cost (incentives), new store revenue, capital cost / return, NPV, IRR, store pay-back period in years, and cash-on-cash return. 

·       Advise on incentive structure for development agreements

·       Evaluate combined program impact on effective royalty rate, revenue and EBITDA.

·       Perform analysis to guide adoption / rejection/ revision of innovative new store growth strategies.

·       Establish and manage reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) for new programs and strategies.

 

35% - Manage Global Development Flash forecast and Budget process

·       Lead Preparation of the annual budget for expenses, royalty incentives, and store count.

·       Provide analysis and insight to guide establishing store count targets in partnership with the development team.

·       Monitor and regularly report department progress against budget.

·       Provide updates to divisional forecasts on a quarterly basis.

·       Lead period P&L review with the Global Development and Facilities leadership teams, covering key variances and escalating meaningful trends.

·       Periodic development update including store growth and pipeline forecasting using key indicators

·       Serve as primary financial point of contact for the development and facilities teams

 

35% - New Store Profitability Analysis

·       Evaluate profit expectations and financial payback of new corporate and franchisee owned stores

·       Lead period financial review of new store financial performance, including new development concepts.

·       Advise on stores to purchase or sell

 

10% - Complete Franchise application financial reviews

·       Review all franchise new build and purchase applications for creditworthiness and long-term financial viability.

·       Review external candidate applications to verify financial position and ensure minimum requirements are met.

·       Continuously improve the financial models used to evaluate applications.

Qualifications

·       BA/BS in Finance or Accounting, MBA or CPA a plus

·       Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial analysis

·       Demonstrates strong accounting and financial analysis skills

·       Ability to independently manage multiple projects and guide priorities

·       Ability to communicate financial information to operational audiences from business consultants and development analysts to Executive Vice President levels and partner across various finance disciplines such as accounting, tax and audit to support operational and financial initiatives

·       Builds effective business partnerships and provides thought leadership to operational executives

·       Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

·       Experience with Hyperion, Micro Strategy, SQL and PeopleSoft preferred
