Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

(50%) Labor and Employment Matters

·                Work directly with attorneys in the preparation of employee communications, policies, manuals, posters, acknowledgements, and other legal documents and materials.

·                Research and work with attorneys in the preparation of responses to legal demands, administrative charges, and requests for information and records.

·                Work directly with attorneys in the preparation of responses to discovery requests and subpoenas and compiling responsive information and records.

(10%) Franchisee Services

·                Work directly with attorneys and other members of the legal team regarding franchise matters.

·                Prepare letters and other communications regarding franchise matters.

(25%) Support Corporate Counsel and Other Attorneys

·                Prepare letters and other communications to outside counsel, insurers, and others.

·                Prepare and issue preservation notices.

·                Create, manage, and organize legal matter and other department paper and online files.

·                Prepare and maintain reports, including reports on pending legal matters.

·                Schedule and maintain calendars and legal matter deadlines.

·                Book travel arrangements and handle expenses.

(15%) Special Projects

·                Perform special projects at the request of attorneys and other members of the legal team.

·                Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

·                Certification or associate’s degree in paralegal studies required (bachelor’s degree preferred).

·                Minimum 3 years of experience in litigation support (preferably with labor and employment matters).

·                Ability to independently manage multiple assignments in a timely manner.

·                Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and abilities.

·                Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·                Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

·                Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
